Art and History of this Hermès Scarf

With Flacons , Catherine Baschet composes a gallery of bottles in various shapes and styles, each representing a miniature world of perfumes and stories .

Inspired by Alfred de Musset 's famous quote, "What does the bottle matter, so long as one gets drunk?" , this design features a composition of meticulously crafted, authentic perfume bottles . Each bottle depicted actually existed and is preserved in museums or prestigious collections. In an elegant touch, Hermès has incorporated some of its own creations , subtly placed among the antique bottles—see if you can spot them.

This scarf perfectly illustrates the invisible yet omnipresent elegance of perfume in the history of the art of living. Hermès blends heritage, museum homage, and self-deprecation, subtly concealing its own perfume bottles within this evocative collection. A scarf that is at once graphic, poetic, and playful.
